Ranch country south of the small village of Galisteo south of Santa Fe.  I  occasionally will do some background acting in westerns and this landscape is from sketches I did while waiting. The mountains have been mined for gold since the colonial days of the Spanish. An abstract landscape of the colorful and seemingly endless mesas and the layers of colors at sunset that have drawn artists for well over a century. The "Land of Enchantment" describes New Mexico's scenic beauty and its rich history.
