Shiprock (also known by the Dine as
"Rock with wings") on the Navajo Reservation in
northwestern New Mexico rises above the high desert
plain. From afar the formation looks like a
clipper ship.
Another watercolor in a series called Canyonlands. Throughout my life I have been inspired by the magnificent landscape of the west, especially those special places where the rock soars.
