Heading down the wilderness trail at the end of a day hike in late summer; north of Santa Fe, I  came upon a group of aspens surrounded by unruly saplings. The aspen wilderness forests are wild and secret places to visit. The wilderness forest trail near Santa Fe; gently rises and loops through  beautiful aspen and mixed conifer groves.  The cool shadows and light breezes make for a pleasant summer day.
